So, this is my result from the random scribble thing at Jake's discussion today. I darkened the lines I started with. Can't wait to see what everyone else has done~!

T-shirt

So I think the t-shirt designs are due like today and I noticed that there aren't any up on the blog yet so I thought I would throw some out there... I actually have a chance to win if no one else posts anything! :) That would be cool, but we might end up with terrible t-shirts since these are just doodles from one of my classes today! The First one is a rip off of the I heart NY with SKB instead and the other is a hot air balloon shapped like the world that says the world is our campus. It is kind of hard to read, but I didn't have a lot of time to put this into a computer. This was shot with my phone camera! Anyways enjoy and post better stuff please!!!

Jake Parker's Workshop

Here's my interpretation of the make-a-drawing-out-of-a-squiggly-line game! I think it's a dinosaur trying to eat a mechanical fruit. Yeah. Steampunk dinosaurs. I'm gonna go somewhere with this.

Coolest thing Ever!

A website I stumbled across whilst researching thai fisherman pants.  Ok, I'm a nerd, but this is seriously cool, and some great inspiration:

1st Post!

Hey guys, this is Josh.  I've been sketching, but not posting, and the guilt has been welling up inside me    like a  forgotten water-balloon on the faucet.  So; here you go :)

These are all like a month old, i still need to scan conference . . .

"Bandit at Sebus"- one of the Lamanite mauraders who attacked Ammon in the Book of Mormon, Alma chapter ~18?  oh yeah, and crazy Lamanite nunchuck swords!  We're going for historical accuracy, folks ;)

Mahonri the Earth Bender!  Ether 12:30- "For the brother of Jared said unto the mountain Zerin, Remove—and it was removed."

Ok, so I was collecting dendelions, manly man that i am, and i thought, rather randomly - 'hmm, what if there was a sailing airship that flew the same way dandelions do?' so yeah.  I'd like to do a painting of it at some point, after I finish everything I'm currently procrastinating.  huzzah!

Ok, so there was a presentation in the HFAC about a month ago that involved a dance off.  And . . . yup.

Joseph Smith's first vision

Another sketch from the aforementioned presentation.  It concluded with Michelangelo the Ninja Turtle's interpretation of "Oliver Twist".  A lot of the big name actors do stints on stage or in broadway after their hollywood career starts to wane.  I had wondered what ever happened to that guy . . . .

BYU Animation Club and Illustration Club

2 other awesome art clubs! Why not be support multiple groups and get to know more people? So our lovely Amani is heading up the animation club: it's a great way for all pre-animation majors to group together and help each other out. For more information on joining, email byuanimationkids@gmail.com.

Also, the BYUIA (illustrators association) is having its opening social this Thursday at 11 in the BFA Studio (F455), which will be headed up by Melissa Crowton. If you don't know who that is, just know she is awesome! There will be free food, prizes, faculty intros, and more goodies, so drop by!

Some caricatures...

Everyone, meet Melissa and Natasha.

I don't know if anyone else agrees, but that caricature workshop was RAD. I'd love to see a follow up.

Zoo + Caricatures (Kendall Hale

Aight, so I went to the zoo and didn't actually draw there - but when I got home, I spent about 8 hours drawing gorillas. Just gorillas. Here's a few:

And here are a few caricatures from this past Saturday (thanks again Kim!)

Yeah, it just so happened that I only got girls for partners during the workshop. Whoooooops...

Zoo Excursion and a Witch (burn her!)

Aminals are FUN to draw!!! :D:D:D No, seriously, they are.

This witch was somewhat inspired by "Wicked," but you decide what manner of witch she is :)

The little maid that brewed. . .

I would not want any one of these women cleaning my home, but especially not HER!!

Note what kind of broom she's holding.  That's the joke.  Sorry for giving it away. . .

Witch!

the only part I like is the dang cat....
